Back to Legacy

Grandma is out of the hospital and headed back to Legacy. She is feeling much better and will be on a longer-term antibiotic treatment to hopefully keep her infection at bay. She will definitely be needing a lot of help since she can't get out of bed by herself or walk more than a few steps. Mom is working to get some home health nursing arranged for her at her apartment in Legacy. I'll keep you posted on her progress. Major props for Mom and Jaimie who have basically been visiting and/or helping Grandma all day, every day since Thursday night when she went to the ER.

Update

Grandma is still in the hospital but is starting to feel better and have more energy. She will have to stay there and can't go back to her apartment until her infection has cleared up. There isn't a phone close to her bed and she is doing a lot of napping but we've been going by several times a day and the kids went today and sang her some primary songs which she seemed to like. Jaimie and I threw in a quick "Barnacle Bill the Sailor" for good measure as well.

Not feeling well...

Grandma is not feeling well again and is back in the hospital. This is a repeat of what was going on in Ojai so I don't think there is any reason to panic. She has said that she does not feel up to calls or visits in the hospital so I will not put that phone number here. If anything changes or as we know more about her prognosis/recovery time, I will post that here. In the meantime just know that she is being well cared for and resting.

Mother's Day Weekend

It's official - Grandma is actually here in Logan and is slowly adjusting to her new surroundings. She is feeling very overwhelmed and often confused but hopefully over the next couple of weeks she will settle into the routine.

Because she has been having a hard time remembering her schedule or making it to her meals on time, we think it's a good idea to have her stay there at Legacy house for a couple of weeks with minimal outings so that she can get used to everything. She is getting multiple visits every day from one or all of us. Yesterday was Mother's Day and we took her to Jaimie's house in the evening for dessert. The kids are all very excited to have her here and are being very helpful. They seem to know their way around Legacy House as well as anyone else and even helped Grandma find her way back to her room when they ran into her in the hall after her lunch. She wasn't quite sure where she was or where she was supposed to be going but the kids did!

Grandma's daily meal schedule is as follows:

Breakfast - 7:30-9:00 AM
Lunch - 11:30AM-1:00PM
Dinner - 4:30-6:00PM

Sunday she has church at 10:00
Monday she has Relief Society at 1PM and FHE at 6PM

If you are trying to get a hold of Grandma, please know that she will not be in her room during these times. Additionally, they have multiple activities every day so please don't be alarmed if you try to call her and she doesn't answer.

Changes are coming...

By this time tomorrow, Grandma Campbell will be driving with Stuart from the airport to her new home in Logan, UT. This is a big change for her (and everyone else) and Nancy wanted a place where Genevieve's family could catch up on what she is doing - hence the new blog. I can't guarantee minute-by-minute updates, but I will try to keep it updated regularly. Feel free to post messages here for her, although I'm sure she would love a card or a letter delivered directly to her.

This is where she will be living:

Her new contact information is as follows:

Genevieve Campbell
c/o Legacy House
330 East 1400 North Apt 251
North Logan, UT 84341
(435) 227-2059 (her room)

I'll post an update over the weekend after she gets settled in.
